Edmond, OK - On July 11–12, 2026, the Fourth Annual Elevated Native Basketball Tournament brought together approximately 270 Native high school athletes representing 57 Tribal Nations from five states at Solid Rock Basketball in Edmond, Oklahoma. Hosted by the Lindy Waters III Foundation, the annual event combined competitive basketball with educational opportunities and cultural celebration, providing Native student-athletes a weekend focused on community, connection, and opportunity.
Hosted by the Lindy Waters III Foundation, the annual tournament continues to serve as one of the region's premier basketball events for Native youth, combining competitive play with educational opportunities and cultural celebration.
Through partnerships with Nike N7 and Hibbett, every participant received a custom tournament jersey and player nutrition pack. The organizations also helped provide Nike shoes for the tournament's Player of the Game awards, recognizing one standout athlete from each game throughout the weekend.
Saturday evening's programming extended beyond basketball, beginning with the Foundation's annual scholarship presentation. Eleven Native students who will begin college this fall were recognized as scholarship recipients in front of players, families, and supporters.
The evening also featured an honor song led by Terry Ware and his drum group, along with the presentation of the colors by the Native American Women Warriors Color Guard, who participated in traditional regalia. The celebration continued with the Girls All-Star Game, Boys All-Star Game, Dunk Contest, and Bumpout Competition.
Tournament play concluded on Sunday with championship bracket games. NSA Prospects captured the Girls Division title, while OK Runners earned the Boys Division championship to close out the weekend.
Lindy Waters III attended throughout the event, spending time with athletes and their families by signing autographs, taking photos, and visiting with participants between games.
Since its launch, the Elevated Native Basketball Tournament has grown into more than a competitive sporting event. It provides Native student-athletes with opportunities to build connections across Tribal communities, celebrate their cultures, and compete in an environment designed specifically for Indigenous youth.
The tournament was made possible through the support of volunteers, officials, sponsors, and community partners who contributed to another successful year of competition and opportunity for Native student-athletes.
