Culture Connections Camp – A Day of Learning, Wellness, and Community
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Lindy Waters III Foundation hosted our Culture Connections Camp at Think College Now in Oakland, CA, in partnership with the Intertribal Friendship House. Designed for 6th–12th grade students, this free day camp offered youth a meaningful space to explore identity, build community, and engage in mindfulness, cultural learning, storytelling, and wellness activities.

In Fall 2024, the Lindy Waters III Foundation hosted its first Culture Connections Camp in Norman, Oklahoma
This exciting event brought Native youth from across Lindy’s home state together for a day dedicated to mindfulness, cultural learning, and mental health awareness.
Fostering Wellness and Culture
Our inaugural Culture Connections Camp in Norman, OK was a resounding success, offering physical, spiritual, and mental health and wellness activities to both Native and non-Native youth.
Participants engaged in enriching experiences such as:
Stickball
Basket weaving
Yoga
Developing personalized mental health plans.
Each attendee received yoga mats, notebooks, shirts, and bucket hats, fostering a sense of community and support.
Partnering for a Purpose
This impactful event was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of our partners, Rise Above and Norman Public Schools. Together, we created a space where youth could connect with cultural traditions, explore wellness practices, and build resilience. Their contributions ensured a meaningful experience for all participants, highlighting the power of community partnerships in fostering growth and learning.
