The Lindy Waters III Foundation is an Indigenous-led family foundation.
Our founder, Lindy Waters III (Kiowa/Cherokee)–the 5th Native American to play basketball in the NBA–has faced many of the same barriers that Native youth encounter today—limited access to high-quality athletics, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Lindy’s journey, overcoming these challenges to becoming an athlete in the NBA in March 2022, inspired the creation of our organization. Lindy now plays for the Golden State Warriors.
