Tulsa, OK - On Saturday, September, 2026, the Lindy Waters III Foundation, in partnership with the Native American Bear Foundation and Tulsa Public Schools Indian Education, recently hosted a Culture Connections Camp in Tulsa, Oklahoma, bringing Native youth together for a day centered on culture, connection, mentorship, and community.

Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of sessions, including stickball, basket weaving, film and storytelling, and basketball. Each activity provided a different opportunity for youth to learn, participate, and connect with Native traditions, knowledge, and one another.

The camp also included one-on-one mentorship through the Lindy Waters III Foundation’s College Prep Program. Through these conversations, students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their goals, and receive individualized support as they think about their futures beyond high school.

Culture Connections Camp reflects the importance of creating opportunities where Native youth can experience culture, build relationships, explore their interests, and see possibilities for their future. By bringing together cultural activities, sports, and educational mentorship, the camp provided a space for youth to learn both from the people around them and from one another.

The Lindy Waters III Foundation is grateful to the Native American Bear Foundation, Tulsa Public Schools Indian Education, instructors, volunteers, mentors, and everyone who helped make the day possible.
